Its cool trust me

‘Did you know him?’ Muttered directly after the phrase 'Have you heard about the boy…’
Heard. The past tense; as if it’s an expectation to have already known. As if it’s the 'in’ thing. The new hot topic.
And of course it is. I have seen the aftermath that one single act has caused. The news being spread radially from this one person. This one fellow human being who is now no longer with us. The news travels far and fast.
Each individual who has ever spoken to him is voicing as one, 'what could I have done?’
We as a community, as a species, have lost one of our own. We have lost a human being. A being with blood and bones and mush and skin. He could feel the sun on his skin, just as we do today.
And through this we recognise each others mortality. And while this ripple still echos, we ask each other the question, 'Did you know him?’
Simply being asked perpetuates and enhances the true devestation that we as a community feel.
I did know him, but not enough.

This is the third time this situation has come into my life in the past 10 months. Reach out.
His energy has returned to the universe. He will be looked after.
